Kontex says the medium Moku can dry indoors in approximately 90 minutes, depending on the season. At around 50 g, it is particularly easy to carry; its fine yarns and breathable weave help it release moisture quickly.

Kontex’s textile story begins in Imabari, Japan, where the company has made towels since 1934. Its distributor Morihata describes fine, garment-quality threads woven gently on traditional low-speed looms, then washed in snowmelt from the slopes of Mount Ishizuchi. This careful approach develops the cotton’s softness and absorbency.
The fabric’s subtle depth comes from textured nep yarns and mixed-tone yarns—the latter inspired the Moku name. These small details give a simple everyday towel its distinctive character.
